We help civil society and local community groups by organising workshops on social action causes to promote shared values and achieve project goals.
Paint the Change has developed an expert-curated curriculum that can be adapted to different issues – from social cohesion to public and mental health and the environment – which we use in our workshops.
Our sessions can be conducted over a few consecutive days or over several weeks. The resulting public art and videos about the process are powerful tools for NGOs to feature on their own social media platforms, and to present in future discussions about their work.
Rich Mix, London
We were proud to produce a four-storey crowdsourced mural celebrating the NHS – featuring more than 200 flowers drawn by members of the public – in partnership with Rich Mix cultural foundation and community hub in Shoreditch, at 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6LA.
Titled 200 Nationalities, One NHS, the giant artwork by award-winning street artist ATMA celebrates the diversity of the NHS and frontline workers and features a portrait of a young Londoner, an NHS health worker and hundreds of hand-drawn flowers crowdsourced from across the United Kingdom.
The mural is made up of 136 individual vinyl adhesives applied to the building’s award-winning moveable aluminium louvres – serving as a reminder of London’s gratitude to the NHS and its international colleagues for their work during the pandemic.
A group of young people from Wapping Youth Football Club painted a new street mural to celebrate the NHS in September 2020. Paint the Change hosted a series of art workshops with Wapping Youth Football Club to help local young people develop their creative skills and express their views on social justice through street art.
Linc Centre,
London
Paint the Change worked with the Linc Centre, a youth hub near Devons Road in Bow, to learn about amazing local people. We wanted to give local heroes the attention they deserve by commissioning portraits of them as murals on the Linc Centre walls.
The people selected by the community are Aaron Williams and Heather Peirce – a local youth worker and community organiser – as well as the team behind Linc’s own community garden.
GOAL Line, Detroit
Detroit’s “Get On And Learn” school bus loop is designed to improve education access and opportunities for local students. Paint the Change installed a bright yellow bus shelter adorned with original artwork showing a group of children wearing crowns and engaged in educational activities outside of the Lincoln-King Academy in northwest Detroit.
Paint the Change is dedicated to supporting local communities across the globe, hosting workshops and producing murals in several cities and countries around the world.
